Company History

IEG Technologies UK Ltd was founded in 2005 by William Pope and Stephen Forster, together with Dr. Eduard Alesi of IEG Technologie GmbH to promote sustainability and enhanced efficiency in the field of soil and groundwater remediation.

Based at The Open University's Business School in Buckinghamshire, the Senior Management Team has a considerable track record in providing an expert service in the assessment and management of contaminated soil and groundwater on brownfield sites. Underpinned by a broad-based and profound environmental knowledge gained over a combined 50 years in the environmental consultancy and remediation industries, and backed by Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) status, the team has a solid track record for providing practical and considered advice to a wide range of clients, including:

Dr. Alesi has many years of broad hands-on experience applying IEG's innovative remediation technology in the field. In addition, he has worked under a research programme with the University of Karlsruhe since 1990 developing the scientific hydraulic calculations for the implementation of groundwater circulation systems. He has also been involved in the implementation of application studies at a research test field in Karlsruhe and under the leading edge VEGAS research and test facility programme at the University of Stuttgart.

IEG Technologie GmbH was founded in 1993 as a partnership between the technology developer, IEG Industrie-Engineering-GmbH and Dr. Eduard Alesi, an expert geologist, to combine manufacturing with engineering and scientific expertise. Since 1993, IEG has amassed numerous applications in Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Belgium and France, as well as the USA, where the technologies have been evaluated and approved under the US Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) programme, and by many other Government authorities.

IEG Industrie-Engineering GmbH, was founded in Germany in 1976, initially as a mechanical and manufacturing technology company. In the following years, in response to the emerging science of in-situ contamination management, the emphasis of the company's activities changed to soil and groundwater remediation and environmental clean-up technologies. In 1986, IEG became a pioneer in the field by being at the forefront of the development of revolutionary in situ groundwater circulation technologies. The company boasts numerous international patents, which demonstrate the high standard and innovation of the technologies.
